Joomala and Oracletube
May 31st
I was messing around with a couple of drupal plugins and screwed up the site layout a couple of weeks ago. While looking for an alternative CMS I found Joomla pretty interesting. We still love Drupal for the flexibity it offers and also looking at Joomla we wanted to give it a shot. So we installed Joomla and had a couple of enhancements to the look and feel and yo! we have the site now running on Joomla and Drupal. We are still retaining most of the streaming features that we were comfortable with Drupal and our site will work with both the CMS. I hope this will not annoy our users. We want to keep the registration and screencast streaming in Drupal rather than in Joomla considering the migration efforts.
Enjoy learning Oracle…

Happy New Year 2009
Jan 3rd
2008 was a quite a long year and we had lot of improvements in terms of the traffic and the content in the site. 2009 is going to be more fun. We have decided to include audio in our screencasts in 2009 and we are working out a plan for including the PDF notes for the screencasts that we publish free of cost to our users. We are also working on the integrated learning platform that will enable our users to collaborate and share their knowledge.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year 2009.
Drupal+Flex+Oracletube
Nov 24th
Drupal and Adobe flex is a wonderful combination for a full fledged content management system. After working on a full fledged flex based interface for Oracletube screencast we decided to integrate it with Drupal. Now our whole site runs primarily on Drupal with pieces of it integrated with Adobe Flex. We have started uploading the screencasts and our site will have all the screencasts uploaded on a weekly basis. Enjoy learning Oracle products through Oracletube screencasts.
Rising from the dead!
Oct 31st
Its been ages since we pulled down our screencasts and we are rising from the dead. We are going to work full time on bringing the site up with the latest Oracle screencasts for our users. I apologize to our users for shutting down the site temporarily. We have been working on getting the site layout redesigned using Adobe Flex.
Thanks to Praveen for letting me know the number of users who want this site up and running. We are planning to include a discussion forum for all our users to discuss Oracle and related technologies. We welcome suggestions and site improvements.

Oracletube Site revamped
Mar 3rd
We have revamped the whole site with new Screencasts. I am sure things might be broken
after this re-design. Please let us know if anything is broken in the site. We will fix it as early as possible. We are currently working out a solution to integrate a shopping cart and we will be be finishing it soon. Please feel free to let us know your comments to serve you better.
Lots of things have been redesigned using PHP. We are also working on getting a Oracle XE instance running at our site so that users can start learning and practicing. When we tried installing the RPM, We ended up with a
error: Failed dependencies:
libaio >= 0.3.96 is needed by oracle-xe-univ-10.2.0.1-1.0.i386
We downloaded libaio-0.3.99-2.i386.rpm but Since we only have a jailed ssh to our server
we are not able to install that rpm. We are working out a solution so that we get this instance up and running. We will notify the users once its done. Feel free to navigate through the pages.
Oracle Application Express Introduction
Dec 9th
Oracle Apex is a free tool from Oracle corporation that allows you to build browser based applications quickly. you don’t have to install a database and then an application server. in apex everything is bundled. you can install oracle apex, fire up your browser and start designing database tables and html pages all from inside a web browser and in less than couple of hours your application is live and usable. this is the interesting part about apex.
oracle apex tutorials are hard to find. Also most of the content on the web is aimed at advanced users. This prompted us to start oracletube, so that even beginners can start designing and developing professional looking applications quickly and easily.
we thank you for visiting oracletube. we are constantly adding more videos about oracle products and we hope you find it interesting to learn through screen-casts.
